The European environmental targets for the automobile industry are ambitious. In 2012 new cars are allowed to emit an average 120 g CO2 per km (source: SEC 2007 – 77,78).Even in a worst-case scenario electric cars, which can be plugged into any power source socket, will be able to reach the future EU targets.
