QUICC!, a full electric utility van, developed for inner city distribution with a topspeed of 120 km p/h and a range of 150 km
DuraCar Holding BV is young Dutch automobile company, based in Heerlen and fully focused on innovative and sustainable solutions for mobility. Although we are a young enterprise, the development of our concept is solidly based.
The development of the electric van QUICC! DiVa is based on an initiative by Innovative Transportation Systems AG (ITS), founded by Neville Chamberlain and former GM managing director Robert Stempel. Former Chrysler managing director Lee Iacocca was also involved in the designing process. During a decade a lot of money had been invested in the engineering of an electrically powered van.
Entrepreneur Paul Hamm came in touch with the project and after some time he was in the position to take it over. In 2007 the intellectual property and the first prototype were transferred from ITS to DuraCar Holding B.V. In this way the Netherlands have come in the possession of an important initiative in the field of sustainable mobility.
In 2008 the first prototypes have been manufactured. These optimised prototypes fitted with the latest Lithium ion iron phosphate batteries have been tested elaborately. These will be introduced at the 2008 Paris Motor Show in October.
At the end of April 2008 during the 17th Cleantech forum in Brussels, DuraCar enjoyed being awarded ‘most promising technology’. Investors present at the event declared DuraCar the most potential enterprise for investors.
